  I'm baffled by all of the positive reviews for this bizarre and unethical attorney. I would give him negative stars if I could! I guess if he's interested in your case (and it will support his self-aggrandizement) he's competent? Full disclosure: he was one of a handful of attorneys who worked with a program in Portland that allowed for much-reduced legal fees. I guess because of this, he felt he could give me shoddy legal service and was not at all interested in my family law matter which was the complicated dissolution of a domestic partnership and deadly serious for me, of course. (In future if this ever happens to me again--God forbid--I will avoid like the plague a family law attorney who says at the very onset, "I don't like animals or children!") Despite the reduced fees, and the fact that at the time I worked with him I was barely a year out of massive cancer treatment and had racked up considerable debt saving my life, Perriguey still obliviously managed to rack up over $4K in legal fees, and he never even prepared a case! (Except for the most perfunctory & slap-dash job that he did quite literally at the last minute the very night before my arbitration date & w/me doing most of the work!) Very much working from his OWN AGENDA and not listening to me at all, he kept trying to get me to settle and kept spinning his wheels doing so, wasting my time and money. I even caught him in several lies while trying repeatedly to force me to settle for something I didn't want. He was completely arrogant, often rude, self-serving, and an utterly uncaring and dispassionate attorney. He threw me to the wolves which were my ex and my ex's very well-prepared & out-for-blood attorney. Perriguey never once stood up for me and allowed them to be abusive towards me both in and outside of the arbitration setting. I was so traumatized working with this horrible excuse for a family law attorney, that it's taken me years to write this review. I'm considering going to the Oregon State Bar to report him if it's not too late. Oh, and on top of this he felt like we had some bizarre kinship and he shared his salacious & unusual to say the least sexual relationship with his 'closeted' partner--fascinating for an LGBTQ civil rights attorney and part of this man's clear personality disorder. I'm sadly not kidding... I believe this man is seriously disturbed! He then felt it was also necessary to 'name drop' that he was friends with someone quite famous in the LGBTQ community, writing her name (when I didn't know who she was) in big, bold letters on my notebook... Again, rather bizarre behavior for an supposed 'professional attorney/client' relationship! I had to start over completely -- filing an appeal of the botched arbitration -- with a wonderful young attorney who took the same reduced fee (actually, she took less) but who actually did the job that I needed her to do. Beware of Lake Perriguey! He's an utter narcissist and a very poor excuse for any kind of attorney, let alone a family law attorney who should be the MOST understanding of people going through the worst events of their lives. RUN in the opposite just direction of this destructive human being! Lesson learned for me in the most excruciating way--never, NEVER settle for being treated badly and being given poor service even if you don't have a lot of money--there's always someone decent-minded and caring out there to help you if you look hard enough!!! And to answer this attorney's lame reply. OF COURSE he remembers this case, and he would be the LAST person I'd ever contact again. The Oregon State Bar may have other ideas, however, when I file a complaint with them...

  I was treated horrendously by some pretty reputable people and Mr.perriguey masterfully put them in their rightful place, Apologising and cutting me a check out of court.
